STARTING SCHOOL FOR THE FIRST TIME

Reception applications forms are available from the School Admissions team 12 months before the child is due to start reception.

Attendance in a school nursery will not give any priority for a place in the reception class at the same school. A reception application form must be completed. Getting a place in a school nursery does not mean that you will get a place in reception because more children apply for a place.

TRANSFERRING TO SECONDARY SCHOOL

All children in Solihull primary schools will receive information on how to apply for a secondary school place in July of Year 5. The places are offered in March when the child is in Year 6.

JOINING THE SCHOOL LATER ON

When children join Mill Lodge part way through their school career, we make every effort to ensure they settle as quickly as possible and make friends.  We encourage visits to see the school and headteacher before starting.
