School Closure

Dear Parents,

CORONAVIRUS – SCHOOL CLOSURES

As I’m sure you are now aware, the government has taken the decision to close schools in light of the coronavirus pandemic.  Mill Lodge will be closed from Monday 23rd March for the majority of children.

School will remain open for some families, including those of key workers. The government have identified these families as including NHS workers, Police, delivery drivers, teachers, families with social workers and children with EHC plans. Please contact us by phone, email or via Facebook messenger to let us know if, as a parent, you fall under this category.

At Mill Lodge Primary School, we have made plans to ensure minimal disruption to the education of our pupil whilst schools are closed.  As a result, we have organised learning for the pupils to complete at home which you should have received by email.

Class teachers may be in touch, by email, to give further guidance about learning your children should be completing at home.  This form of communication is for information giving so each teacher may not be able to reply to any specific requests.  For any issues, it will be best to contact someone through the school’s Facebook page.

Whilst we endeavour to keep the contact details of families up to date, there may be some families that are not receiving the information.  I understand that most classes have a parent social media group and ask that you use this platform to support school and each other during the closure by sharing constructive information and advice so all children are supported.

We will keep families as up to date as we can with regular posts to Facebook and Twitter

Despite being closed for this period, if any of our families need our support for any reason we will be monitoring the Facebook messages and office email (41office@mill-lodge.solihull.sch.uk).  Please get in touch if you need support.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs J Cooling
Headteacher
